Our Worship

Welcome

Our worship is a meeting between God and His people. When we gather for worship, we come into the presence of God to give Him glory, honor, and praise. Our liturgy reflects the biblical dialogue taking place between God and His people. He speaks and we respond. We see this principle in such passages as Psalm 136 and Isaiah 6.

What To Expect

ALL HIS PEOPLE INCLUDES OUR CHILDREN
For this reason, we believe our children ought to be with us during worship. This is their time with their Lord every bit as much as it is ours. So when you hear the sounds of little ones during our service, be reminded that to such belong the kingdom of God (Luke 18:16). By having your children with you in worship, you can explain what they may not understand and thus take part in training your children in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6). If you need to step out with your child, feel free to make use of the Cry Room adjoining the Sanctuary or the Nursery downstairs.

OUR SINGING OF PSALMS AND HYMNS
While the Lord has given us 150 psalms, we also sing great hymns from our Christian heritage that proclaim the rich themes of the Bible.  As such, we believe the church is enriched as we encourage one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs (Ephesians 5:19).

OUR PREACHING AND PARTICIPATION IN THE SACRAMENTS
We believe the Spirit of God speaks to us through the proclamation of His Word, and then seals His Word to us in Christian baptism and the Lord’s Supper. And because the Lord promised to use His Word and sacraments to give spiritual strength to His people — growing us in faith, love, perseverance, and good works — these means of grace are an indispensable, weekly part of our worship. Due to the specific medical needs of some of our saints, bread that is gluten-free is available and the distinct cups in the wine tray contain grape juice.
